Funding Support

The Creston Valley Gleaners Society began in 1983 with a focus on gleaning food from farmers and orchards to feed families in need. Soon after, donations of clothing and household items integrated the need for a storefront. Over the years, Gleaners has grown to support two storefronts, the local food bank, and the local food recovery.

In 2002, Gleaners found they had some extra funds, so the decision was made to offer the first disbursement of $550 to support the United Church Wednesday Lunch Program and the Ministerial Association. Since then, the Creston Valley Gleaners Society has offered more than $1,600,000 in support back to the Creston Valley.
