The Gleaners Team
Our Board of Directors
Lane Hutton
President
I have volunteered at Gleaners since 2020. I really enjoy meeting the people from our generous community and sharing with them how our organization works. We chose Creston to retire to because of its climate and the smaller center feel.
Carol Marsh
Vice President
Marion Nygren
Treasurer
I have been a proud volunteer at Gleaners for over 20 years and have been in the Creston Valley for 54 years. I have held the Treasurer position in the past and feel confident in reprising the role.
Rosanne Watt
Secretary
I have been a volunteer at Gleaners since October 2016. I spend a lot of time at Gleaners Too and I like the openness and fun that we have on a daily basis. Creston is my home, I was born here and got my education here as well. I like the small-town atmosphere and the friendliness.
Brenda Draper
Funding Support Chair
"I am proud to be a Director and Funding Chair on the Gleaners Board. I feel a great responsibility to work in cooperation with my colleagues and volunteers to ensure we navigate this burgeoning organization in a direction which will continue to support the needs of our amazing community."
Don Sciog

wonderful customers. When we retired as business owners from Alberta, I wanted to connect with new friends, and felt volunteering and joining the garden
Ruth McLeod
Director
I have been a volunteer at Gleaners since early 2024. I really enjoy working with all of the wonderful people who give their time so generously to support the less fortunate in our community; working at Gleaners is an inspiration to me. I love the Creston community for it's diversity of cultures and so many opportunities for everyone to live and thrive here. I especially love the environment, with it's natural beauty, and the spirit and peace of this place.
Joette Wickham
Director
I retired recently and moved to Creston. As I learned about the community I realized that our community has a need for local support. Volunteering is my way of helping to support my community. I feel good about what Gleaners does and am happy to be part of Gleaners.
Lance Meyer
Director
"my wife started volunteering some years and I started helping with the weekly sweeping of Gleaners too. I sat in on the solar project on G1 and now help with pick ups and yard work at G2. I`m interested in the politics of the organization so look forward to being a board member."
Gerrie Schuler
Director
club and attending the ladies luncheon group were ‘safe’ places to make those connections. I love Creston for the warmth of the people.
Grace Hansen
Director
I applied to volunteer at gleaners in 2019 4 months after moving to Creston. I often stopped at gleaners in previous years on my way to visit family in Alberta. Several of the ladies, Marlene in particular would be working at the till and they were so friendly and cheerful that I always wanted to come back. When I moved here, I thought Gleaners would be a happy place to work with cheerful staff. I look forward to every Monday morning. It's a great place to be.
Ashley Pompu
Director
"I have been a volunteer at Gleaners since 2024. I am proud of the work being accomplished at Gleaners, and I am passionate about my role in being able to lend a hand in lifting our community up. Every day is a good day at Gleaners."
